ParticipantI emailed Carlos Sanchez, the creator of the http://www.carlos-sanchez.com/Prusa3/
the model was assembled with 3ds max, using STL models downloaded from official repositories for the printed parts, and modeling some other stuff (screws, bearingsā¦).
Once the complete 3D model is complete, it has been imported into Unity (www.unity3d.com). Unity is a realtime 3d rendering engine that allows to implement simulations and to deploy them to several platforms (web player, standalone applications for Windows, Mac and Linux, iOS, android and consoles).
All part animations and camera transitions have been created by programming different behaviors, so no manual animation is required. This way, changing the order of appearance or modifying the simulation is immediate.
If you have knowledge on C# programming and 3d simulations, what I did for this particular application is not really hard to do (it only took me a couple of days to create the complete project).jesse

It’s divided into two pieces that fit together.

ParticipantThe sizes are usually measured by inner diameter. Common sizes are 1/2 inch, 3/4 inch, 1 inch, 1 + 1/4 inch, 1 + 1/2 inch. There was one piece of pipe that fit part #1 but not passed the lip.
Here are some PVC pipes from a hardware store.
For copper, I found the outer diameter was 16 mm and 23 mm (instead of 15mm and 22mm). The clerks said that brass pipe is not normally sold for plumbing anymore (in the USA).
