To be truthful and honest...I've always been a nerd striving to be a geek while somehow becoming a guru about what little I have mastered. I've spent my career and life creating technical solutions for a wide range of organizations and needs. Recently (2012) as the CTO of a multinational organization, I completed a project relocating engineering and manufacturing of internationally sold product lines to the United States from China. This was the second, state of the art manufacturing facility that I've had the honor to design, implement and oversee. Although I've worked for many companies and corporations, my team has always Incorporated IT, purchased or built the equipment, designed and administered the production systems, trained engineers and designers, created just in time inventory and procurement processes as well as managing the facilities and technical production staff. I've had the privilege to design, purchase, and train on equipment from all over the world; 3 axis point to point, 5 axis lathe, 150 watt laser, UV piezoelectric deposition, UV vacuum coating, thermal vacuum forming, to name a few. I became interested in RepRap while procuring equipment for rapid prototyping. What a fantastic concept and gift, nothing can be as wondrous as creating, and this allows everyone to join the fun. Very few things have been as rewarding in life as making something tangible from the intangible thought, I've been a Maker along time....and that's still what I want to be when I grow up!
