I have a problem with the auto bed leveling feature – the Z axis steps up and down very quickly up and down, but this is causing a lot of vibration in my printer arms and bed. The way it steps seems to be limiting my speed when I jog it. I’ve also noticed on rare occasion, some of the faster print moves don’t have this problem and it moves up and down smoothly, like it should.

Maybe related, I see that the Z axis accelerates properly on single moves, but if I tell it to go up 10 and down 10, it will accelerate up, instantly switch to going down causing a jolt, and decelerate to a stop.

Test cube print - vibrations causing ripples

Unrelated to my above issue, that picture is supposed to be a cube. Somehow each individual layer height seems fine, the Z axis is calibrated correctly for homing distance, and yet it came out really tall… Need to try some more tests.
