ParticipantIn the top platform there are two curved slots. In your most recent youtube videos it looks like you have a fan mounted there. Is that correct? Can you provide any details?
I read in another topic that the optional 12 mm holes are for people that do not want to use the mounting brackets but connect the smooth rod directly to the platform instead. Since I have the brackets I will go ahead and use them.
There is an 8 mm hole opposite of the 8 mm hole used for mounting the extruder. While it does keep things symmetrical is it needed for anything? If I later upgrade my Morgan to a Lilian am I going to wish I had drilled that hole?
It looks like the frontmost 2 holes in the bottom platform are for cable management for the heated bed.
The only other question I have about the platform is in regards to the motor mounts. Would it be worth rotating them so that one leg of the mount is in line directly between the motor shaft and the center of the drive wheels? In one photo it looked like a motor was at a slight angle due to the tension in the cable.

KeymasterI use a blower fan in the curved slots, similar to this:

The slots are there in order to adjust the max flow towards the center of the bed before tightening. The fans differ a bit in the direction of flow.
The other hole is to (a) give you a choice on where you would like your extruder, and (b) allows a second extruder. Lilian will be multi extruder at one stage, but do not worry about that too much at the moment. Work in progress.
Heatbed cable management, check!
The motor mounts have been redesigned since to include some fins to the one side to aid with the tension. I am open to new ideas on the motor mounts. One of my crazier ideas involved bolting the support to the bottom of the motor using the motor assembly screws, and that may still work the best. I had trouble getting the right screws at the time, and went with another option. It will also be heavily motor size dependent, where the current brackets are flexible in that regard.
