I’ve spent quite some time looking for 2mm x 40mm self-tapping coach screws, and I’m really not finding many coach screws smaller than M6, or 6mm. Does anyone have a suggested source?

If it matters, I’m in the US, in Maryland, but I’m quite willing to order from any (reasonable) source.

      Thanks!

      I didn’t find them either.

I’m using 3mm x 40mm screws for wood (e.g. Spax), which you will find almost anywhere. You just need to drill out the holes in the toolhead and the arm a bit (e.g. to 2.5mm).

As a follow up question, what about the 2 different springs? Not a lot of specifications are given, other than 7mm, for the “hard” spring.

      Any recommendations?

      Thanks!

The dimensions are not critical, as long as it fits, and exerts enough force to handle the idler.

Mine was too long, so I cut it in two, now serving on two machines.

You strictly do not even have to adhere to the 7mm recommendation either.

      As long as it fits.
