  These kits http://www.sainsmart.com/other-1/3d-printing-material/3d-printer-controller/mega2560-smart-lcd-2004-controller-a4988-ramps-1-4-3d-printer-kit-for-reprap.html are available easily out here in the middle of the pacific in Hawaii.
  
  Does anyone think they’ll work (specifically with the morganized RAMPS code) ?

  This would do just fine. Just get yourself two of the DRV8825 or DRV8824 pololu drivers for the 32th uStepping on the drive wheels.
