I’m sure someone has thought it would be cool to make the Morgan dual filament (or more) capable. Has it been done yet? Have ideas been hashed out? I figure I should ask before I blunder in and present my idea.

And here I proceed to blunder in:

What if you put it here?

The location of the 2’nd extruder is a simple offset distance from the first extruder. The maths should be identical, with one value changed. (I’ve not seen the maths or the code yet–still convincing the wife to let me buy new ‘toys’ and dive into building).

Obviously the workspace of the 2nd extruder is smaller thus is a limiting factor. My first thought: build longer arms. Or print smaller dual filament parts.

      Thoughts? Concerns? Experience? Jokes? Ideas?

Dual heads are planned… as a printable upgrade.

In order to make the math as easy as possible, the extra head will have to be on the arc formed by the front PSI arm. That way it is a simple angle offset between the two heads, and not an extra calculation.

“Watch this space”? I don’t catch your meaning, sorry.

Let me spell it out then. There is already some work done on a dual head extruder hotend holder, that can be installed on Morgan today. It is useless though, since the work on the firmware is not done yet.

I will release it when it is ready. You will find the announcement here on the site.

      Better?

Yes, thank you. My apologies. 🙂
