      Hi,
First, I would like to apologize for my bad english.
I’m about to build my own Morgan, and i’ve got a small problem.
Does anyone have any idea of what kind of steppers i have to buy? 3V/5V/12V? And what about 1.2A/1A/1.5A?
Thank’s Quentin for your absolutely incredible 3D printer, SCARA is more interesting and cool than “normal” 3D printer, it’s a fact, and i love it so much.

      Thank’s

Hein is correct. The motors I have on my machine today are rated 1.7A and some 2.5A. Both works fine, but the 2.5A motors generally runs cooler.

Your English is fine! As I understand it, the stepper driver ICs generally used in RepRap printers are current drivers, and the stepper motor voltage is not important. The drivers are running off a high voltage (relative to the stepper max voltage) and controls current.

The higher the current rating, the stronger the motor is (maximum torque). A free running stepper motor will automatically use less current than a straining one (that is, one that is under load).
