Hi All,

I’m looking to build a Morgan but I need a source for the printed parts. I’m willing to pay shipping from non-US sources if that’s my only option.

Nothing’s been on ebay lately.

The company I work for sometimes uses parts made from printed metal (DMLS). Are there any inherent issues with using the parts printed in a stainless steel?

Seeing as metric PVC is difficult to procure in the states, do you recommend just modifying the printed parts to fit the ID of “imperial” pipe in the states? If so I’ll post the STL’s.

PVC pipe is flexible… in more ways than the obvious.

Pipe is available with an OD, 32mm in my case, and a wall thickness class, 16 in my case (2.4mm wall thickness). This gives you an inner diameter of approximately 27.2mm or 1.07inch

If you get 1″ pipe with the normal OD of approximately 33mm, with an ID of 1.07 or slightly less, you are in business. To help fit the pipes, heat it slightly using some steam or hot water. Remember to get it right the first time though, since doing it this way it will probably never come off again… make sure of the type and orientation of the pipe holders.

The copper pipes are close enough to make it work as well, but if you are using the stainless I would make the holes bigger for sure…

Let me find out what shipping will cost. My farm is in the process of being set up at the new place, so I am on backorders at the moment, but once everything starts running again by latest next week I should be able to help you out.

Not to hijack this thread but I am in the same position. I am in the US and would love to get the plastic parts from you if there is any way to do so. I sent an email in December when you were really busy. I don’t want to invest too much money until I have the plastic parts but I have already purchased the Alpen drill bit.

Stainless would be interesting…

The only problem I can think of is that the parts may be on the heavy side, but if you can manufacture them with a low percentage infill it should be fine.

If you do it, pictures are mandatory!
